Schools That Heal who enroll fully (use all of the available services) will receive powerpoint guides on using these
books with groups of children (and their Teddy Bears.)
Author in Residence ( 1-2 schools per year only)*
Schools committing to Author in Residence will have author of Teddy Bear Circle Books onsite at your school twice monthly for 3 months during the school year to do the following:
First monthly visit: Observe in classrooms and talk with teachers about emergent issues, provide consultation.
In Between Visits, Offsite Work: Author will write a story that addresses an emergent issue in one classroom or grade. Author will begin illustrate Cover.
Second Monthly Visit: Read the story to the group, facilitate children's illustration process.
End of Month: Produce book for classroom/school library with author text and child illustrations.. Provide written guidance for follow up conversation and activities.
Capped. Check with Lesley before enrolling.
Includes a PD session for teacher and a session for parents on the power of reflective literacy if requested.
